Our Team
Here at Torus Wellbeing CIC we have a diverse team of dedicated specialists, each committed to making the highest quality wellbeing services available to everyone in the community.
Dr Nicola Brough’s interest in wellbeing comes from her personal journey to support her own mental and physical health using complementary and integrative medicine. She has been a practitioner for 20 years’ and her academic interests lie in patient reported outcomes and the evaluation of wellbeing and health. She is passionate about supporting individuals to reconnect to their intuition, inner wisdom and knowing and uses energetic and physical processes to facilitate this. She runs Torus Wellbeing Clinic in Shelton, Stoke on Trent and collaborates with a team of Associate practitioners to deliver a wide range of health related services to support good mental and physical health. Nicola is an experienced group facilitator and has regular psychotherapy/body work and clinical supervision for her work. As part of her self-care regime Nicola play’s netball, runs and practices yoga regularly. Nicola’s role within Torus Wellbeing CIC is to oversee the day to day operations of the organisation and to ensure quality services are delivered.
Sally Abel is an experienced Physiotherapist with over 20 years clinical practice. Sally has worked in the NHS and in private practice, as well as teaching Internationally on persistent pain.
Sally believes that the most important thing in healthcare is the ability to listen. Often time is cut short in clinical situations and there is little time to get to know the client. Only by truly understanding the person in front of us, do we actually make a difference to their recovery. Like fitting together pieces of a puzzle, things that people often feel are irrelevant can be the key to change. Understanding each individual’s circumstances and history is paramount. As a Director of Torus Wellbeing CIC, Sally has a key role in the design and implementation of the physical health and educational group sessions. She also delivers pain management and Physiotherapy as part of the bigger Torus Wellbeing 12 session programmes.
Sally believes that health and wellness should be available to everyone equally.
Janine has over 20 years’ experience of supporting families in different settings and circumstances and has developed many vital and transferable skills which she now uses to provide expert support and care to children, parents, and carers.
As a Director of Torus Wellbeing CIC, Janine oversees the governance of safeguarding, ensuring that the principles and duties required are implemented and applied appropriately. She is also instrumental in ensuring we have the necessary funding to offer our services to the communities in which we serve.
Janine’s professional qualifications include PhD Social Policy Candidate, BA (Hons) Social Work, Accredited Early Attachment Practitioner, Open University – Health and Social Care (K100) and Diploma in Nursery Nursing NNEB.
Her personal vision is for every family to live happy, healthy lives with positive relationships and a chance to reach their potential.
