Here at Torus Wellbeing CIC, we have a vision that we will be able to offer the highest quality services to as many people as we can, within our community. We have seen the benefits of offering funded classes that combine our specialities to introduce complementary and integrative approaches to health and wellbeing. In the future we hope to gain the resources to offer many more part and fully funded services to members of our community.

Torus Together Project Improving self-esteem programme – preparing for the workplace 

Are you struggling with low self-esteem, which makes it hard to put yourself out there? 

Low self-esteem can debilitate us – it can prevent us from engaging with life, others, and world around us.  Looking at why we have low self-esteem and healing the wounds from the past that limit us can clear the way for building good relationships with ourselves and others.  Good self-esteem brings confidence and trust in self and others and prepares the ground for a rounded individual to enter the workforce.  

This 4-week programme (3.5 hours per week) will lead the learner through an exploration of themselves.  The course covers emotional education, self-esteem, explores the links between thinking, emotions, and behaviour and ways to develop assertiveness. 

In addition, each participant will be assigned a coach for two 1-2-1 sessions to prepare a CV and to prepare for an interview or to look more deeply at an area of the course which may have been a challenge.

At the end of the course, you will  

  • Have a greater understanding of yourself 
  • Have increased confidence & improved self-esteem 
  • Improved employability 
  • Have a CV to use for your job search 
  • Have the knowledge of how to prepare for an interview 

Course Dates 

Courses will run during term time only.  Sessions are on Monday’s between 11.30am – 3pm in person (group size maximum 8) plus two facilitators.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Age 16+ 
  • Right to live and work in the UK (British passport will need to be shown at enrolment) 
  • Evidence of unemployment at time of enrolment (must be able to produce a bank statement showing benefit payments) 
  • Evidence of economic inactivity (must present a letter from the job centre) 
  • Learners must be able to commit to all sessions (term time)  


Help to complete the enrolment process is provided.  The course is experiential and needs minimal literacy.  Although a good command of English will be required to prepare a CV and prepare for an interview.

Long Covid Road to Recovery Support

This 4-week course supports those with long-COVID to tackle the aftereffects of the virus, helping them to move forward to improve health and wellbeing.  Participants are encouraged to become more active and learn new skills. Targeting both physical and mental wellbeing.

Our sessions help to bring people together to share experiences and explore the difficulties and changes to quality of life since diagnosis.

This course was funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.  People must live in Staffordshire to be eligible for our services.

This course has now come to an end. 

We were privileged to support individuals manage the wide impact that long covid can have on their lives.  This course helped participants better manage their symptoms, provided new skills and techniques for relaxation, built strength and conditioning.  Being with others who understand how ‘long covid’ impacst on one’s life, has been most helpful.

Torus Together Active Course

Our 4-week online course has been developed to encourage mindful movement, increase fitness, emotional resilience and reduce social isolation.  The course includes meditation, Qi-gong, seated yoga and toning exercises.

This course has now come to an end. 

We have loved offering this course to our community and seeing the benefits it has had for so many! These sessions give people the opportunity to take some time for themselves, slow down, make new connections and learn some new skills.
